TEAM Field Trip Program

The TEAM (Teaching Environmental and Agricultural Memories) field trip program is a unique environmental education program offered to elementary youth county wide in partnership with the Sonoma Resource Conservation District (RCD). Currently funded by the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District (Ag + Open Space), TEAM takes elementary students, third through fifth grades, onto working farms to learn about the importance of local agriculture and the environment. Knowledgeable staff guide students on five beautiful agricultural properties—Dutton Apple Ranch in Graton, Crane Family Farm in Santa Rosa, Duckworth Farm in Sebastopol, Open Field Farm in Petaluma and Gilardi Ranch in Bodega. Students focus on food production, livestock and wildlife habitat, natural systems, and our agricultural heritage. TEAM field trips are a unique opportunity for students to visit these places and learn about Sonoma County’s agricultural heritage and natural ecology through hands-on exploration of working and natural lands.

Ag + Open Space partners with local organizations through innovative programs that get young people outside to explore nature, science, agriculture, and environmental stewardship in their communities. This program is made possible by the Ag + Open Space District.
